Default Rinehart 3 1/2" Slip On vs 4" on 2011 Road King

My wife bought me a set of Rinehart 3 1/2" slip ons for my 2011 RKC. Didnt actually realize that they were the 3 1/2" until I removed the stock exhaust and pulled the Rineharts out of the box. Since the stock is 4", the Rineharts don't match up to the hangers under the saddle bags. They are 1/2" away from the hanger. Can I add a spacer to fill this gap or will I have to get the 4" exhaust? More importantly, is the 4" better than the 3 1/2"? Any advice is appreciated.

I just put 3 1/2 Supertrapp SE's on my 2011 Road King and didn't have any issues........what do you mean the hangers don't line up?

The hanger holes line up with the new slip ons but the slip ons sit 1/2 lower than the stock exhaust. The stock exhaust slid right under the hanger and the hanger bolts threaded into the stock exhaust. Since tge Rineharts are a smaller diameter the bolts aren't long enough to fit down into the mount on the pipe. I can use a longer bolt but I am afraid that without some kind of spacer they are going to be crooked when they are tightened or will bind at the tail pipe.

My brother has 1 SG 2011 w/103 and he has the 31/2, my 2012 SG I opted for the 4, sound is the same, mine have a slightly lower base tone, is a matter of looks in my opinion, in other words what ever makes you happy....good luck.

Also there are an awful lot of 3.5 pipes out there....if there was an issue with any of the things you mentioned I'm sure it would have been addressed
