I am looking to put on some 16" ape hangers for my 2011 RK. I am looking at a kit from Hill Country Custom that has everything.

From looking at previous post, some a couple years old, there seems to be a mix of good and bad from them. Most seem to come from wrong cables provided and hard to get a hold of to fix.

What I would like to hear from is people who have dealt with them recently.

1.How was your experience
2.How good was the chrome
3.Did the kit come correct
4.If you have a Throttle by wire did the kit come complete the twist grip sensor

I am looking at these kits because I like the idea of not having splices in the wiring harness.

 

I bought some 12" prewired Yaffe MBs about 6 months, they sent the brake line for dual rotor, called them up I had it in 3 days. My experience was good and will buy from them again

 

did your kit come with the twist grip installed

 

Everything was wired plug and play, grips were not installed, the fbw was so just open the pack and sled em on.

 

How was the chrome on them? Some have said it is OEM Harley they have chromed

 

I took my bike to them last week. I ordered my 12 monkeys from Brian and then decided to take my bike to them and let them install. Red ( the tech) was reay and waiting my arrival. The entire bar kit was wired and all the chrome installed when I arrived. I stayed and watched as he did the install. He finished in about 3.5 hrs and I could not be happier with the quality of the bars and all components. Also very impressed with the level of service and the ability to observe as he worked

 

So far it seems the issues of the past might be resolved

 

I bought the 14" plugnplay apes for mine '09 RK from HCC. I installed them myself and tho' I did get them on in under 5hrs, I felt the clutch cable could have been 2" longer.

Did you try to contact HHC to see about a longer clutch cable?

What did you think of the quality of the kit?

 

I just got the 15 in z bar bagger kit from HCC and i love mine i feel the quality is greta and the cables all were proper length they were not to short but not overly long either to me they were just right i do not have the throttle by wire sinc emy bike is an 07 but over ll i am very very happy with the order Also they said 7-10 days i believe i got everything in the mail on the 6th day... Packaging was very well there was no way anything would get damaged i will add some pics of mine
