I have this speedo/tach on my 2011 RKC and love it. Works well. Has good information. The gas gauge is more accurate than the tank mounted OEM gauge. The tach portion is easy to read. Because of it's size, of course, you are not going to know the exact RPM you are at. But, you can see if you are at 2550, or 2800, or 4175. In other words, you can have a good idea where the Rs are at.

I have a tach on my Mustang Cobra and my F-350, both of which are manual trannys, and having a tach on the bike is only natural for me.

And I like the looks of this one.

Having said that....

If I were to do it again I would consider...

Though more expensive, in addition to the information available on the one referenced in this thread, in combination with the stock one this PC unit also has engine temperature and voltage gauges. It also is located at the front of the tank and so the gauges would be more easily seen without having to tilt one's head down towards the tank dash to see them.

But, I am happy with the one referenced herein.

I was thinking the Dak0ta digital. Has an input for oil or head temp gauge and has a digital gear indicator that will work w/ a Baker DD-7.

Recently installed the same speedometer/tachometer combo on my 06 Road King. I love the look and functionality of it. Your article is spot on, wish I had found it before trying to read the Swahili directions that come with the new speed/tach. It took a bit to figure out how to actually set and save the desired back lighting as well as the on/off for the fuel level indication. All good to go now.

Hummm, always risky reading about a useful gadget like this one, been watching it since they came out or actually noticed it at dealership. The PC unit doesn't have eye appeal to me. I doesn't flow with the bike or the dash......it's all about everything fitting together for me, if it looks out of place like the PC unit it becomes an eye-soar (I know I'm a weirdo).

So over the winter while having the bike stored at a local HD, I had them install a bunch of parts for me on my 2012 WG. I have the 4" version of this speedo. My question is this: Originally, I have a horn/trip switch that was used to cycle through the different displays on the speedo (rpm/gear, average miles, remaining miles, etc). Is this switch still used? All the pictures I see as well as videos show a button on the side. Is the new button just to change the colors or is it used to scroll through as well? The instructions aren't too clear on this ...

That button is used to scroll through the displays, set time, change colors. An instruction sheet should have come with it.
