Default Ipb

My 2010 SG had the IPB go out at 18894 miles. HD customer service got involved with the help of my dealer and eventually paid for everything but fluids. It is now going out again only 3219 miles later and dealer is blaming it on Amsoil. He said he has 3 or 4 this summer already and all used Amsoil. I told most use that as SYN3 isnt much good and that blaming on oil is BS. Calling customer service now to start the process like last time.Sounds to me like more than the bearing needed replaced and I was shortchanged the easiest way out.

Tons of old threads on this for early 96" bikes. Threads seemed to have lessened 10-12 years ago.
I just installed my 4th bearing Last one was a baker, at the second one installed hayden spring tensioner, I got the alignment dowels that the dyna owners said the 2006 lacked. I am using 20w50, but I am using that in 5 speed too. For me it has been 20-25k miles between failures Baker was 15k.

cant read it....the ignore list works.......but even still.......7 years old........
the only reason I saw it was because it came up on the NEW posting........

And yet you felt the need to participate! Who cares how old the thread is, the people who bitch about that are often the same ones that complain about people not using the search feature and instead asking repeat questions. Guess what happens then? Old threads get replies.

I know it's an old thread but OK I'll play. 07 electric glide standard 55,000 miles. Original compensator and original in primary bearing. I hope I just didn't jinx myself.

Dealer diagnosed IPB from noise it was making in neutral. Also found leaking shaft seal, compensator spring worn out, broken clutch hub splines and pitting on IPB race on mainshaft.

2009 FLHTCU, 56,000 miles.

Parts & labor = $1,881.92
