Thumbs up 103" vs 107" vs 113"----What did u do

gotta 07 road king and am looking to wake it up. ive gotten alot of info from here and others. not sure what route to take, thought a cam would do it then maybe a bore kit. in the end ill probably dump a bunch of $ into it any way so whats the best bang for the buck. even a 124" is out there isnt it.

Sell the motor on your bike on ebay. Buy a S&S 124ci and be done with it.

If I were to do it over again I'ld pull the stock motor and put a 120r in it's place.

Do the 120r crate motor and save the corner in your garage for other junk and not all of your motors stock parts. by the time u get done with a healthy running 103 or 107 or 113 you will have about the same amount of money in it, and you can sell or save your stock motor for some $$$$. I love the 120r I rode a dealer bike on Friday. ordered it on saturday for my 2011 Road Glide.

If you want economical, leave it stock. If you want tons of fun, go big or go home! Seriously tho, what is the bikes "role" in life? If it's tame, no sense in rodding the crap out of it. But if fast as hell is what you're after.....well, turbo anyone?

If you don't want to replace the entire motor, go with a 107. Jugs are coming off anyway, might as well go big as you can. And despite what some will tell you, you don't have to go in the bottom end and have the crank worked if this is for normal sane riding, with the occasional spirited romp. If you're going to the track on a regular basis, on/off the gas like stop light drags, or loaded to the gills, then go in the case and fix the crank. Otherwise, don't worry about it.

But, between the S&S124 and the 120R, it's making it real tough to build your own for that.

Good luck!

Retail on the 120r and all the "Recomended" Harley parts is $6900.00. I am sure you could do it for cheaper cause I rode my dealers *** and he buckled and I did. Like speedjunkie said it's all about your ride style. and how much you want to spend. If my wife would have let me I would have done the 131" jims.. but with the 120r it's not as nasty and lerchy power like the 131. so that was the selling point for me.

and I agree a turbo would be nice, because when u need the power you can have it but when you don't it rides like stock.
