Default Youtube vids of wheelies....who's doing it and HP/TQ requirements? Too cool!!

I was watching some youtube videos of guys on HDs doing wheelies (like riding wheelies and shifting gears....too cool).

I come from sportbikes, and still like to go fast at times, I can and do jump on my dirtbikes and rides 5 gear wheelies down my county roads (have always been able to ride huge wheelie......still can at 42yo).

Couple questions.....

1) Are there any guys hanging out in this forum that are doing these long wheelies on the touring bike (Street Glide/Road King/Ultra)?

2) If so, how big of a motor is required to yank the front end up on a big touring bike? Are these all 120's/131's....etc??

3) seeing these videos makes me wanna do it!!

I guess I'll need another bike, as I dont wanna "thrash" my '11 LTD. And, I guess I'll need some motor work.

I am an hour from Jamie at FM......maybe he can help. :-)

My buddy does it on his Road Glide with a 103 snd some Woods 8 cams. Only 113hp, but he leaves the longest, nastiest S-shaped burnouts and brings the front end right up at will. Just depends on whether he has an Avon or Metzeler on the rear what he gets...

I do it on my sig bike. 2 up with a dunlop. Solo with avon. Dunlop will spin before it pulls the front wheel.

Pretty sure a stock 103 will pull the tire if you know how to work the clutch for it. It won't stand on the fender/bags, but it will come up some.

It's the rider more than the bike, I knew a guy on a 1982 stock Tour Glide that could wheelie. Yep, that Frankie was one sick bastid.

Roger that! I do a lot better wheelies on someone elses bike. Once you get it to that sweet spot it doesnt take much power to keep it up. Of course you better have short exhaust or else your draggin!
