Default Changing mm to delphi

Ok I'm just curious if I wanted to change my magnetti marelli on my 01 ultra over to Delphi. Can it be done? What parts would I need?

just on a cost basis take off CV carbs are anywhere from $40 to $125. petcock, plug for the extra tank bung
manifold, throttle cables and ignition

I have a MMI bike oddly never had issues with it. My Indy hates it, but it works for the bike in stock setting. I'm about to do a motor build and thinking Carb but I like the ease of EFI. Google & you'll see a few posts over in another forum (pm me if you want the link) with the parts list & such.

The only FULL AUTO tuner out there for MMI is from Cobra suppose to deal with anything the builder upgrades to but IF I was to do a any sort of build bigger then the 98 I would do a carb just to keep the work simple ( at least to me, I'm sure others have input)

I've put together the parts to convert an EFI tank to carb and the most expensive part is the petcock! 'Tis a thing of great beauty and a shame to get it dirty (Pingel).

As for changing over to Delphi, I can't help thinking that will be a challenge. The tank I have doesn't have a return line, which suggests even the pump and fuel supply side of the system is different to MMI. So it could involve a complete changeover.

I'm interested in this also. most things I've read about it states about $1500 - $2000 to convert MM - Delphi. Cost prohibitive to me but I believe it could be done. I think you'll have to get new ECM, wiring harness, throttle body, injectors, gas tank and some different sensors for the Delphi system. A carb conversion seems more realistic to my bank account.

Checkout HPI Inc., They have some nice MM replacement throttle bodies.

Contact Dan Thayer at this place.

http://www.vtwinfuelinjection.com/

He has a whole M&M to Delphi conversion system. It's not cheap, but it converts it over. I went Zippers conversion on my old '01 Ultra. If I had to do it all over again I would go carb. There is a whole list of parts by the numbers on Harley Tech Talk along with the wisdom and knowledge of folks who can walk you through the process step by step.

I'm just curious if it can be done easy and cheap. I've seen most guys don't like mm but I'm not having any issues besides it not idling when cold. I've tried the steps and just can't get it so I deal with it. Thanks guys for the info

I'm pretty sure Magnetti Marelli makes the "Delphi" unit. You might contact them for info.
