Default I wrecked, time to reinvent the bike!

A week ago I got run off the road (long story that I wont go into) and my Roadie is in pretty sad shape. I dont have the duckets to put it back as a road glide so I am looking at possibly turning it into a ratted out road king. How much work am I looking at to swap over to the nacelle and single headlight setup? Who makes nice TBW 16in apes that wont break the bank? D&D exhuast or back to slipons? Who makes a nice but inexpensive crashbar? Last but not least, Forward controls with mini boards or back to the regular floorboard setup?

Not sure if you're being sarcastic, but I buy all my **** thru Ebay at (at least) half the price of shops. New, BTW.

One week ago, I bought new heat shields for 138.00 on Ebay, the local dealer had wanted 376.00. Bought a front fender for 105.00, dealer wanted 498.00.

I was being sarcastic, sorry I have been in a **** mood lately (anyone want to guess why). I only had liability due to lack of work, so I am doing all this on the cheap. Between the medical bills, lost work, and me being in kinda bad shape it might take some time but I will have my ride back up and running even if it looks like ****!

Thanks for pointing me to the Khromeworks apes! I would do all the searching but between the painkillers and the broken wrists typing is a pain (literally)

I'm glad you were not more seriously hurt. Concentrate on getting yourself back together, then worry about the bike. Bikes and bike parts can always be replaced.

Yeah I cant afford new bags and a road glide fairing along with new pipes, foot controls, bars, and hand controls. So Ive decided on a no fairing road king style with apes and maybe just a bucket headlight on the lower tree. I will have to get new fork legs which will be expensive but necessary. I can pick up the leather road king classic bags fairly cheap on ebay then I just have to get some slipons and figure out my foot controls.

Im calling it "project backyard bagger" and thinking that with a positive attitude it should be a fun little transformation. Most importantly it will get me back on the road until I can scrape together the cash to turn it back into a road glide.

Bookmarked those apes, that looks like the ticket!

The older I get the more these high speed getoffs hurt!
