radiator overflow
Hello All,
Im happy to say that it seems that Spring is starting to come around here in the NE US.
I took a 175 mile ride a few days ago and all went well. However when I parked my 2014 FLHTK in the garage I noticed later that evening that the coolant had run out of my overflow container. I believe when it was under pressure. The level now is just slightly under the "cold" level.
Does anyone have any ideas on why that would happen?
It was the first 75 degree day I did ride with the lowers closed and mostly all back country roads of 45 - 55 mph. Not much in the way of idle time with the exception of about 2 minutes for me to walk around to open the garage.
Any info would be appreciated..
Safe rides to all.
Steve

You didn't say when your bike was built- there was a recall on the earlier models regarding the cooling system- unless you already had the work done, or your bike was built after the recall, I'd start there.
Secondly, there may be some air in the system, the remedy for that is to run the water pump for several minutes to allow any air to work itself out.
You do still have your warranty for at least a few months, so contacting the dealer would be another option.
I've not yet observed any leaks on my Limited.
