Try Sheltons in Smithfield, about 45 minutes north on I95, much better folks to deal with.

According to Harley website, The Alarm is only offered as part of the "Security Package" which also includes ABS if it came from the factory that way (perhaps the dealer added the security system?) MSRP 19,499 (vivid black) 19,994 (not Vivid Black). Security package 1,985 and cruise is 295 totaling 21,484 + paperwork etc. for non-Vivid Black SG. About 22k OTD if you can get a black denim with cruise, abs and alarm for 20.2 OTD I'd say that is not bad.

Are you trading in? my dealer will negotiate more on trade-in than he will on price. Buying an ESP? Buying accessories installed at delivery? These things matter. One dealer I know of is giving $1,000 in accessories with each purchase = saving 1,000. Some give deals on ESP = more savings. My Dealer offers pre-buy 6 Services at reduced price (can be used for 1,000, 5,000, 10,000 mile services - your choice: I use them once a year for 10k service = biggest savings)

bottom line, if you are comfortable with the deal, and can afford it, it is your choice. After buying you will hear stories of how you could have gotten it cheaper...

Had a deal for '12 Denim SG w/ cruise done for $19,040. Didn't like the financing options so I walked.

It's been few years but Tilley HD in Statesville, NC was very competitive with Charlotte HD.

If you can get it out the door for $500-$1000 UNDER MSRP this time of year then your getting a deal.

So with $19,994 being MSRP, I'd say $19.5 is right in the good deal range.

Wish everyone would stop using the term out the door... Should say total price paid plus tax and title... Total price includes all fees, doc fee, freight, dealer setup etc...

I doubt the "OTD" cost is 100% true. As mentioned earlier in the thread, the taxes, Gap, warranty, dealer fees, title fee, etc, etc will drive up that cost. Id say add 30% to whatever number they tell you, if its less, then score. But I wouldn't get my hopes up until the paperwork is done. For the record, I just bought my 2012 SG 4 months ago...
