pretty much decided on the BRT rockford amp..either the 4 channel or if i can hold out the new 2 channel that comes out next month
source is a new jvc deck with front and rear usb doing a flush mount usb input in my glove box so my iphone can sit in there and charge and i can run my music off of it..
front usb is a 16 gig micro usb stick that looks like a bluetooth chip with music on it..

Look into the KDX50BT from JVC (if you don't want a CD player...if you do, then disregard). I just bought and I'm loving it. It's $120 but on Crutchfield.com, they have it on sale for $99. Throw in a $1 item and you'll be at $100 and I have a coupon for $20 off a purchase of $100 or more, so in the end, I got it for $80. Free shipping.

It's tough picking a "best" since I doubt if many have done tests by ear or instrument on all four speakers in the poll. I certainly haven't, but similar to Goose I have the Hertz connected to an Elf E2125X and a pair of Hog Pods, giving me 125w/ch. @ 2Ω when connected in parallel. The sound is what I've been looking for all along and just stumbled upon this past summer, with plenty of volume and some decent bass even at highway speeds. The Hertz aren't too expensive if you can find an on-line dealer selling the Biketronics line at a good discount. I got mine for $220 and I just found that price at Amazon, which is probably as good as you'll do on those.
I'm convinced that to get an acceptable sound from a batwing fairing you need lots of power pushing that sound out to your ears, along with speakers that can handle it, as that's about as close to an acoustic disaster area that you could come up with. Underwater might be a little worse, but not much.
