Well I couldn't wait any longer. I started to CNC machine my 21 front wheel for my Streetglide. I had a very hard time coming up with a unique pattern, but was able to pull it off by combining some features of some other wheels. I wanted a 5 star basic shape to start with, but I almost went with a 6 star pattern - but I wanted to lighten up the wheel some.
Sorry for the crappy pics, was using my camera phone
That unsprung weight is got to be worth a few extra horses!
Anyway, let me know what you think thus far. The wheel is not finished, nor is it polished, plated, painted, etc. - It's a raw machine finish until I get the hubs made and the rear 18" machined.
Now I got to work on what to do with plating or powder coat.... decisions, decisions [:@]
Enjoy.....

Cool wheel. May I ask what a blank costs?

With the price of raw stock these days (thanks China! [:@]) , it amazes me that they were that inexpensive.
I forgot to add that I am machining matching rotors too. You can buy the rear pulley as a blank if you want and machine that too. Rotors = $32 ea, and the pulley is $90. I am not doing a pulley.

Nice design Denis.
Keep us informed throughout the project and thanks for sharing the cost of materials.
May sound a little bizarre but I think it would be cool to have one of the guys here in the Photoshop Forum try to morph your wheels in a blue matching your bike just to see if the combo would work.

great job, real classic style! I'd chrome them. I've thought about making some parts for my bike, but by the end of the day I just want out of the shop, but i have a few things designed up on the computer ready to machine maybe this winter when the snow is butt deep I'll go in on a saturday and make some chips.
