Default 2004 road glide security system, was told to not use it?

Just got my new to me 2004 road glide and the guy at the dealer told me to not use the key fob security because they are known to make the bike not start/run/do anything if you hit the fob to many times? has anyone heard of this, or does anyone have advice?

not experienced in the older security systems, but this sounds like more dealer bs to me. i'm sure the 'security' was factored into the selling price of the bike, but their telling you not to use it, effectively, charging you for something you don't have?

oh yeah, congrats on the bike. hope you have many miles of smiles on it.

My 06 has the push button fob security system, works fine, no issues. Since they are telling you about it, maybe its a problem with your bike. To be safe set the pin over ride so if the fob doesn't work, you will have a back up to turn it off.

'02 FLHR with push fob security. No issues what-so-ever. And I've pushed it plenty of times when I was no where near the bike, and it still worked fine. I'd ask why doesn't it work!

I've got an 04 with the security system. No issues with it, including the fob. I have never heard of such a thing, either. Maybe isolated problems, but no trends, or 'known fors'. My sincere belief is you received bad info from the 'guy at the dealer'. (Jinks might have hit it on the head...)

He said they tend to make the bike "shut down and not run " if pushed to many times...

If you arm/disarm it three times in a row, it will set the chirp on if you have the siren installed. Other than that, set the code in case the battery in the fob dies so you can still disarm it.
