Oil in air cleaner

Yup, run level a little low if it hits your toes.
it is normal to have oil mist exit the heads at the 2 points where the air cleaner is attached.
Most of this is directed to the intake and burned
some of this condenses after the motor has stopped running
those of us with hi flow filter kits ( no plastic backing plate) tend to notice this more. ( it is easy to stick a maxi pad on the bottom of the stock a/c cover to catch oil, change every 28 days)
If no oil is dripping out- don't worry about it.
another sign of too high oil level is the filler plug/dipstick being blown out on acceleration
excessive oil from the breather is a sign of wear, either the umbrella valves in the heads, worn piston rings or a blockage elsewhere in the oil system which prevents venting.
The product of reversion can be confused for this, reversion is influenced by cams, rpm and exhaust tract. reversion can be tuned out.
don't worry about it

It is a common problem, I vented mine into the throttle body. I did ask two different dealer service managers about it. One told me, if you run high rpm they will all do it. The second never heard of it and there must be something wrong with my engine. He then went and got his ace mechanic and he told me they all do it. There are alot of threads covering this subject on this forum and I've even be called a smartazz in one of them.

I seen traces of it when I replaced my stock filter with a KN. I put squeeze clamps on the small hoses coming off the heads. It looked to me like there wasnt a good seal and the hoses were letting some of the mist get past them. I run my oil right to the full line and often at high RPMs (the fun zone as I call it), and never see anything on the outside of the airbox.
