Default DIY bike stand for maint/storage

Did a different post over the weekend and several asked about my bike stand and wanted more info and pics so here you go. Outside dimensions are: 21" wide, 16" tall, 14" deep. Its made from 1.25" square tubing. With this width it fits into the dogbone at rear of frame and just forward of the jiffy stand mount at the front on my 06 King. Its my simpified DIY version of the stand found here: http://pepsx.com/
Its rock solid. I step my 240lbs on a footboard and hoist myself up, no problem. The pics have funny angles making it look crooked. Its not, everything is square and straight.

Pretty sweet deal w/the stand & would make great way to store bike (off jack) for long winter's nap. I might have to get out the metal tools & whittle one out - thanks for sharing!!!

Now, the majority of the people on the forum will want to know if they should have it tig welded rather than mig welded.

That is sweet! I likw the way one side is open so the jack can sit the bike on it. Thanks for sharing. Too bad I can't weld

Only TIG if you use Syn Oil.

Nice stand. Might have to build one of those.

My buddy and I made one almost just like that a couple of years ago. The stand is just a little wider than the craftsman jack that lifts up the RKC. Just cost me a couple bux on rectangular steel stock.
