The Batteries Plus is the same as the HD battery made by Deka.

Compared to the HD battery, you can get the Deka off Ebay and a battery tender jr and still have almost 50 bucks to fill your ride up with fuel.

im thinkin about changeing my original(6yrs) battery just to be safe, but I was told by someone I tend to trust sence they are in the same field is that up until about 8 or 9 yrs the odds of it going at any point are the same, as long as you ride all year(no battery tender needed) and dont expose it to hardships.Thats what they do.They never had a battery die on them even after 10 yrs.

Ive seen the best new batteries die in 2 weeks aswell...

yes thats what the local batteries plus told me about deca.

another oppinion is to wait a half dozen years or so then get the cheapest battery from kmart cause by the time that goes you wont own the bike anymore...

and your point? agm is a type of battery not a brand, the hd battery is an agm battery, so is the deka and the yuasa replacement, both of which run almost half of what the hd battery costs.

Default X2 Extreme battery

Did some homework on batteries and ended up buying the X2 Extreme for a couple reasons, the factory HD battery only lasted three years, a local batteriesPlus stocks them, they are ~$30 cheaper than HD, made in the USA. The salesman also said it is made by the same manufacturer that makes HD batteries, no I don't believe everything I'm told but it seems plausible because it states on the battery that it's distributed by Ascent Battery Supply out of Hartland, WI. I've seen other post that Deka makes that HD battery. HD may changes suppliers every couple of years depending on who give the best price.

Back to the OP's point:
2 years is about the best warranty you will find. Some batteries only have one year.
It is luck of the draw as to how long it will last.
Wise to consider what you would have to do in the event of a warranty claim:
Take it down the street?
Send it off somewhere?
If you are out of town, is there a chance you would have to just buy a new battery as the warranty would not be practical to fall back on?
You decide...
