Default Changing backlight color on 2010 Road King speedometer

Is it possible to replace the bulbs in a 2010 Road King speedometer?

My Sony fairing mounted radio is blue backlit and I am installing the flush mount fuel guage and cap, which also has blue lights.

I would like to change the speedo to blue if possible.

Has anybody had any success doing this?

Any reason for not changing the speedo and tach?

Good Luck
Thanks, but I have read that thread and have used the search function and can't find a conclusive answer.

All the info I seem to find is on fairing mounted speedometers.

The Road King is a tank mounted 5" speedo and I would just like to hear from someone who has changed the bulbs, or if its even possible to change them.

Oh, ok, sorry, I saw the "Fairing" in your signature and I didn't look any further. Duh !!

I put the HD Speedo Tach Combo in my 2009 FLHRC and really liked it allot. You can choose from allot of colors. When I had the old one out, I don't remember any bulbs that were sticking out of the back of the old unit though.

Good Luck

I think the 5 inch speedo has the led lights in it also dont quote me tho. i have replaced half of mine in my fairing ultra waiting for the others to come in. its not too hard to solder them in. also myride7 also does them for the batwing he might know bout the Roadking gauge he may even do them.

I just upgraded to the combo Speedo/Tach so I am looking at my old 5" speedometer. There is NO obvious way to change the back light. No access to the inside except to maybe pry off the benzel to access the inside. No light bulbs are visable.

I would suggest upgrading to the combo speedometer/Tach and setting the color to match your other gauges

Thanks BT.

I was pretty sure it was not going to be an easy change.

Looks like I may be saving up for a new speedo/tach combo.

I'm in the same situation 2004 Sierra...
I'd sure like to know how to change or dim down the lights in my speedo / tach.
I have the HD LCD analog tach / digital speedo combo.
I love this gauge, just hate how bright it is at night.
It shines a bright red glow up onto my windshield.
Anyone have any idea's for us Road King guy's in need of doing this?
Yes, I've searched and searched for a gauge visor, but nothing is available from any manufacturer that I've found.
