Default 2001 RK Classic - Which Handlebar to Use?

New to the Harley world. Just bought a 2001 RK Classic. Love it but hate the handlebars (stock). Been reading a lot. Appears the Heritage Softtail Classic bars might be just what I'm looking for (they say they are used on the Police RK). So many PN's it's confusing. Can someone help me with these PN#s. 56902-08, 56569-86, 56623-99???? Which ones will fit my 2001 without changing all the cables? Greatly appreciate your help.

I would suggest going to a couple local HD shops and look around their used bike sections for some Road Kings. Sit on a few that have aftermarket bars on them and figure out which feels best and go with that one. No one leaves their bike stock so finding one with different bars will be easy.

Asking what bars we feel is best is kind of silly because it is dependant on your height, arm length, what seat you are using etc.

For the record, I am using Wild One 1 1/4" Chubby bars on mine and love them.

HD beach bars are really comfortable for me. Nice and low and wide

RK Reduced Reach bars by HD. Same shape as the Heritage bars, they are chrome, don't require new cables etc., and you can run the electrical wires through the bars for a cleaner look.

I had an '01 RKC and put several bars on it. For stock bars, the Road King High Bar was the best. Very similar tot he Heritage bars but a different wrist angle. Rode these for 30,000 miles or so but then changed to Wild 1 14" apes. The apes were far and away the best bar I have ever had. With the High Bar though, you didn't have to change wiring, cables, brake line. With the apes, you do.

I just recieved the Khrome werks 1.25" Heritage Style bars last week for my '01 Road King to replace the stock bars. They look really nice out of the box just no time to install them on the bike yet.

Only basis for comparison I have is from my old bike to this one. My old bike was a Honda Shadow with drag bars. This Road King Police already had apes when I bought it. I believe 16's. Maybe 14's not quite sure. Anywho going from drags to apes was a HELL of a change. LOVE the apes once I got the windshield for the bike. Just my 2 cents. :-)

x 2 This is exactly what I did today. I got to try out the beach bars I was interested in. I think I prefer the Heritage bars better.
