Default Harley hand controls to 3.5mm jack

I have an FLHTP and I am adding a Kicker PXi50.2 as a hideaway head unit. It has a wired remote that is flush-mountable, weatherproof and back lit (actually pretty sweet), but I am having a hard time finding a good place to mount it due to its size. It the remote goes into a 3.5mm input on the unit and uses sony's protocol for wired remotes.

I know there are a couple companies out there that make adapter to allow the use of Harley's handlebar controls and an aftermarket radio that uses sony's protocol. The problem is that currently I only have the right hand switches (from having the dealer install cruise) and none of the left hand switches.

So Im wondering if there is an easy way to check if the wiring is present for the audio controls on the right, and how difficult it would be to add them for the left side...then, is there an adapter for just the handlebar controls that outputs to a 3.5mm jack?
