Default The cat must make it quieter...

Over the winter I got the local indy to install a 103 set of pistons and 204 cams in the bike. The bike was a stock 96 with Jackpot 4" dyno tuned mufflers. Got it home and fired it up, didn't sound one bit different than it did last season, not one bit. So I thought it must be the cat's killing the sound of the lope of the cams, I wanted close to the potato potato nostalgia sound. Dismayed, I took the headpipe off and installed a set of Rush true duals. Still not much of a lope but the db increase has got me wondering if I went too far because I like to tour and tour quiet, at least my riding buddies tell me haha. So have to put a tune in it, (right now a canned TTS map for the 255 cams), but I know that by ditching the headpipe the noise increased immensely. I loved the stock note of the Jackpots, perfect deep sound for making an enjoyable ride by the way.
