Default 17" or 18" rear wheel?

I am currently looking for some new wheels for my 2010 Street Glide. I am looking at the Performance Machine Paramount in a contrast cut platinum. I have been looking at the 21 X 3.5 front and 17 X 6 rear but am also considering an 18 X 6. Also what size tires would you guys run on these rims as well as what are the best tire brands on the market right now.

Thank you for everyone's help as this is an expensive adventure.

Cheers,
RP

BCStreetGlide,
Glad to hear you are in the market for wheels, we offer PM wheel packages at discount pricing, so be sure to check out our site and PM me if you would like a detailed quote for HDForum members!

We recommend you put a 17x6.25 rear wheel on your street glide - the look and ride is great, and you will still be able to put a 200 tire on the rear.

As Always let me know if you have any other questions, I'd be more than happy to help, Ryd Safe!

I have a 17X6.25 with a 200mm on mine. When it sits next to my buddies 18" SG wheel... Big difference! I vote 17X6.25!

What changes need to be made in the front suspension between the two choices? I was told if you go with 18" in the rear, then no change in height...thus no need to change front suspension, but if going with a 17" rear then gotta go with progressive monotube??? Looking for clarification.
