I had one of the sheep skins from Alaska Leather that I used on my 2000 RK. I really liked it for two reasons...it prevented the "hot" seat issue for me and I liked the texture of the damn thing. Felt like I was riding a damn gorilla through the jungle bareback!!
(another bonus..you get a small bumper sticker that says "Don't Ride Naked!" which I thought was good advice)

I just got a scrap of sheepskin from a local shop to see how I would like it on my trip to Sturgis.
Would keep it in my saddle bag and throw it on for the longer stints.
Made a believer in me. It was a hassle because it would blow off when we stopped, but the comfort was fantastic.
Good, cheap way to see if you would like it. Do not use it for occasional rides, but I bring it along for anything over a couple hours.

On my previous bike I bought a whole sheepskin, used the seat as a template to cut it to shape, and strapped it on with a couple elastic straps from the hardware store. Doesn't move, stays cool in summer, warm in winter, and stops rainwater pools forming in the crotch! Comfort extreme, and way cheaper than store bought.
Will do the same on the FLHX when I find a black skin.
