Default Danny Gray IST Seat anyone?

Looking to upgrade my RK seat for a better long haul experience for my wife and I. Have the HD tallboy now. Does anyone have any experience with the Danny Gray IST seats? With or without the airhawk technology. Not much review out there.

I had the IST lower profile and I liked it. My wife didn't like it as much as the stock seat I had altered by Mean City Cycles so I sent it back. Don't need the airhawk technology with the IST.

As above, not sure you need air hawk with Ist. We've done a couple 12-1,500 mile weekends and so far so good. I went with a lower profile 'lowIst' maybe? so it's not the most comfy but the best sleek seat I've sat on. Wife likes it as the rear is more flat where the stocker sloped to rear and she never really liked it.

I have to wonder how the rubber bladder holds up over time. Any of us know, in time rubber becomes brittle (think of an old rubberband or innertube). As the air bladder is built into the seat, when it eventually fails, then what?

versus a seat without one you can ride on forever.

I have the DG airhawk 2 up xl seat, it is not a lot more comfortable than stock just looks better. The leather has better grip than the the stock seat does, so you are not constantly slipping forward.

I have the TourIST w/Airhawk. My wife and I recently took a 1500 mile trip with it, and to me it's like a new pair of boots. Took about 100 miles to break in and get used to, but after that was very comfortable. The adjustable air bladders proved nice for my wife. It helped tame bumps in the road and we would adjust the air bladders about every other stop. It does seat me a little farther back, but I'm 6'1 and all arms and legs with a short torso so I had no problems. Some may need bar adjustments. FYI I have stock bars.

It is not cushy like an Ultra seat, it is much firmer. Where it earns it's living is in taking the beating out of your butt and spine over a long period of riding. I didn't really notice the benefit at first, but the longer I rode I started to understand.

For around town and local riding I keep the stock seat on for profile looks, but for any long distance riding I will be putting the Danny Gray back on. It is high quality and seems to me it will last a very long time.
