So one of my first questions is: I am looking at 2009-2012 with various mileage so how how many miles would be to many? I have found a few great deals with the bikes mileage being around 55k is that's to many mies

most would want maybe under 30K for a used bike, that gets you a few years riding before you have to really worry about fixes.

welcome to the forums

oil, filters, gas.

if they are hopped up you will find the next weakest link in the chain.

a stock or stage 1 bike will retain MPG and reliability.
beware of "awesome performance modifications"

performance packages which are documented by known vendors will have a better results than "my buddy's uncle welded..."

the 103 has more power than the 96" mostly in the lower rpm ranges- torque...and this allows shifting into 6th gear sooner- the 103 also has compression releases and an oil cooler stock.

my 96" is pretty good though.

Thanks again, The only performance oriented thing I would like is a nice sounding exhaust maybe slip-ons not sure if I would need a tuner with them or not? I am buying this bike to slow down and relax, If I wanted a performance bike HD is not where I would be looking (no offense meant)

Are you in VA? If so, where? Buddy of mine (with more $ than he knows what to do with) has a black 2009 Road King Classic with a ton of chrome add ons (has stock motor) with very low miles on it. He has a 12 or 13 Road Glide CVO, so the King stays in the garage. He's said a number of times he should sell the King, but he's not a Craigslist guy.

Now that is how you find a bike. Good Luck. You can't ever go wrong with a King.
