Cut cats out or. New head pipe
#12
some dealers will have it done. If that is the installed price and you do not want to do the install yourself. it is a decent price. I bought a gutted headpipe off ebay for $150 and installed myself but I also had to buy 3 new gaskets and 3 new muffler clamps if you do the crossover. The heat difference is huge.

I called around to a couple of muffler shops and the would not take out my CC. They actually said is was against federal law. I used a grinder with a cut off wheel to gain access the the cat and started taking it out. Taking it out was the hardest part, glued in to the side and stubborn to come out
I then took the head pipes to a muffler shop and he welded it up for me for $20. $12 bucks for the head gaskets and I was done. I saved $200 min by doing it myself. Just my 2 cents.

It's true, a friend of mine had the gutted cat and another friend suggested it wasn't tuned right so he bought V&H Power duals and had it retuned, the same, actually 1 lb of tq less but that could have been the weather that day. The guy said he couldn't tell any difference in the way it ran either.
