Default Fitting stock heat shields on Jackpot 2-1-2

Just wondering if there is a trick to this?

Had the dealer install the new head pipe because cams were being done at the same time. Now the front heat shield has about a 1" gap where it's supposed to meet the rear pipe shield.

Before I start trying to adjust these, is this normal or should I try playing around with them.

As a side note, you almost can't notice it because of the ceramic coating. Nice pipes!

I had mine done by FuelMoto, I live close, but I saw a thread on here a while back and someone else had a similar issue and Jamie posted how to get them right. You might want to just call up there and tell them what's going on, should fit ....

Just loosen all heatshields up and adjust them. They will match up. They did on my bike...

Had the same issue w/ a dealer install. Then I did my cams myself and when I reinstalled, the shields lined up great. Dealers are in too much of a hurry to concern themselves with 100% quality, imo.

I would tend to agree with the others. The issue is primarily with the installer, not the pipe. Mine fit just fine with the FM headpipe.

Are these dealer installers idiots or what? And you let them install your cams? The heat shields will fit just fine. They do on mine anyway. And no, a one inch gap is ridiculous. This is why you do your own work.

Yeah, I'm experiencing a similar issue and I'm doing it myself. The gap between the rear heat shield and the two front ones is much bigger than it should be (approx 1/8 to 1/2 inch). It seems that the worm screw clamp brackets on inside of the heat shield prevent it from fully setting down with the other two. Moving the shields haven't helped, because it's not an issue with the two front ones. They mount up just fine.

...nevermind, I adjusted the shield on the aft head pipe and that filled the gap. everything looks and sounds great!

These things were giving me the blues. I got them as close as I could and I give up. Been so long that I don't remember if there was any gap at all before:
