Default Evolution Electra Glide Synthetic oil change results/update on seepage .

I had posted a thread a week and a half back or so because I wanted to share that I changed the oil filter and oil in my 97 Electra Glide Classic (Evo) and switched to a full synthetic oil ( Amsoil) and 1 qt of Lucas conventional/synth 20w50 oil stabilizer. throughout the course of the thread the only real concern from respondent’s was that Evo’s tend to seep after the switch to synthetic, most in part *because of the paper gasket material used in that period as well as the synth oil cleaning away the deposits that form the “sludge seal”.

I’m 200 miles into the OIL change and I gotta say in addition to the way the engine sounds and the way it runs I am very impressed and happy. I BELIEVE THE Lucas additive was the key to success. This will be my mixture from now on. The engine is quieter, running on average 15 degrees cooler (I almost fell over) and over all just running like a top.* No leaks, seeps, or issues at all.

Just wanted to offer *everyone an update. For the record, the Lucas oil additive is available at Auto-zone in 1qt bottles. It is specifically formulated for Motorcycles ( says Harley Davidson’s ) right on the label. Cost was* 7 bucks. was well worth it to be able to run synthetic. Results are awesome.

Peace.

Thanks for the update. I don't know of anyone who ever regretted switching to synthetic. More expensive but money well spent.

Thanks, good to know. I had my Evo rebuilt over the winter and was thinking about using synthetic after I put on a couple thousand miles. Agreed, the Lucas stuff is great. I use it in the bike and every oil change in my truck.
