Loosening the stock ring makes sense, but how do you tighten when the visor covers all of that up? I must be missing something - ?
You loosen the stock screw, install the visor until you can just get a thin screwdriver in to tighten the screw then finish tightening the visor. Works every time!

So I tried then method with no joy. With my stock ring and the visor trim ring removed from the bike, when the stock ring was inserted in the visor trim ring it would not close and the gap was present. I read on the forum that you could ditch the stock ring and make some tabs in the headlight bucket to hold the visor trim ring like this:
The thing is a POS. Even the pictures here showing no gap at the bottom have a gap around the whole headlight. That might not be a problem someplaces but if you collect bugs on your bike like I do that gap could make for a mess.
