This was the most common Shovelhead 84 FLH, as mentioned before the FLHX (special edition), and FLHS were offered in 1984 also.
If I can ever figure out how to put pics on these posts I will show u what I have..=)

Just clearing it up.. they said with out a doubt its an EVO.. he also said there are alot of guys will argue the fact but if I go to buy engine parts buy for the Evo..lol
I doubt there are many guys here that would confuse a Shovel with an Evo.

I dont know..read ealier threads. no one was confused it was just no one really knew when in 84 the evo came out. the was a bit of a disagreement about my bike having an evo motor. thats all. so I called the Harley shop to make sure. Even that guy said it is popular question. So maybe they didnt confuse the two but was some confusion as to the year.

What is even more confussing. I think they built a 1983 FLHTC. That would have been a shovelhead with a 5 spd on the FLT Frame with a Batwing Sheild.

I had an'86, there really isn't a harness as we know it. All the wire are on spade lugs. The wiring on the old bikes aren't pretty, I re-wired a lot on mine myself.

I've got and '84 FLHTC mostly all original, had to replace the starter.
I'm looking for the instrument pack. Actually I just need the Speedo. Everything else works fine. Please let me know if you know where I can find one or can get the Speedo repaired.

To the other guys, my bike does have a harness.
The motor is called a Shovel/EVO according to Harley.
It still runs great and mine has an oil bath for the chain also. Seems like it never need adjusting except when you change the rear tire. Original paint Green & Black.
