Default Seat For Street Glide

I just purchased this beautiful 2006 Street Glide with 17,500 miles on her. The bike is gorgeous and loaded with goodies. One problem, it has the one piece seat. I would like to get a seat with a backrest. I am vertically challenged with a 29" inseam (5'7") so need a seat that will fit my size and sitting heighth. I'd like to find a Harley seat, probably used. Looking for some recommendations on what seat to try. thanks much /Steve

Do you mean a driver backrest? Doesn't your seat have the pocket in the middle for the backrest? It looks like the same seat my '07 has on it, it's a one piece seat but there's a pocket in the middle and a slot that goes all the way through the pan for a backrest.

Make sure you are looking at seats for 2007 and older bikes.
They changed the seats for 2008 and newer.

This is what Harley calls a "Reduced reach seat". Just about every company makes them now.

Harley makes two different Driver Backrests.

This one is two parts:
You buy the mounting kit and a pad

You can also use Mustang backrests with Harley seats if the seat has that slit in it.

Got the back rest taken care of, at least which one to get.

Specific seat question. I don't know about that Reduced Reach Seat. it seems you may loose a little comfort.

I just picked my bike up today so got a better idea what I need. With the stock seat I can put my feet flat on the ground and things are great while riding. The seat is a bit wider at the front then is comfortable when both feet are on the ground. So the questions is - does harley make a fat comfy seat that is narrower in the nose area.
