Question Possible Rinehart Issue

I have a noticeable rattle coming from the rear of my 2012 street glide. I have checked everything that I can think of to make sure everything is tight. Could it be one of the Rinehart slip ons? Is there a baffle in there that can come loose. Just annoying and driving me crazy until I find a fix.

There was a recall on some Rineharts, the baffles were made a little too small.

Actually, don't know if it was an official recall, but if you call them, they'll tell you if yours are covered.

There's a number on the Saddlebag Bracket.

You are not the first to report a "rattle" from Rinehart mufflers.

But I have a little over 24,000 miles and 2 1/2 years on mine with no issues.
Still look and sound like new.

As Talldog mentioned, I think there was a bad batch at one time.

Yep. Talldog is on track. Rinehart did not announce an official recall, per se; however, they acknowledged the "rattle issue" and designed a suitable replacement kit, which is available free-of-charge, provided that the original parts are returned.

IIRC, the issue had to do with the baffle retention screws...

Slap your mufflers and seen if you can hear a rattle. My first set started to rattle on one side at 1000 miles and also turned yellow. I think from the exhaust bypassing where it should be going in the muffler. Rinehart replaced both of them and I haven't had any issues since. That was 13000 miles ago.
