Default Road Glide Ultra/ Shock's

Last night in the pouring rain I road home my new RGU. I decided this time Im going to set up suspension first. I send Frank an e-mail asking about the RJI shocks. I was going with the Ohlin's but based on the reviews in the forum here, I think I will be good with the JRI 13 B's. I hope I will anyway.
Anyway, when I hear from him, I plan on ordering the JRI's but may wind up with the Ohlins depending on what he tells me and the price.

My last two bike were Ultra Classics, with I like a lot, but I wanted a little change. Last night was the first time I every rode a Road Glide. It felt good but I was too wet to really appreciated, so Im looking forward to some long runs with her on some quality shocks. First the rear then the front.

I don't know who frank is, but I got my JRI's from Howard @ Motorcycle Metal, I also have a RGU, and also got the JRI B 13" shocks. You're going to love them!

I ran the Ohlins #3-#3 on this bike and switched to the JRI B's , the JRIs are about $20 less , quality - the JRI is a better built shock , performance - they are very very close on ride quality

Based on my RGU I'd work on the front suspension first.

The front suspension will be done within the next 5=10K miles. I want to coordinate the front end when I do the cow bells and the lowers at the same time. I'm not sure right now what Im going to use on the front yet, but I'll work on that between now and then.
Howard did e-mail me back and I will probably call him on Wednesday.

If you're not in a hurry Howard will have something in the near future to resolve the front end issues as well.

I have absolutely no clue why anyone would recommend the front end work before rear shocks but to each their own.

That nose dive really sucks with stock set up...At least you can adjust the air pressure on the back...

While I don't think that there's a right or a wrong here, I tend to agree. I too have RGU, and the front end was just too mushy for me. Corrected that, now I'm dealing with the shocks. They aren't bad, but I do want better.
