UPDATE!! Test Ride w/H-D 10'' Windsplitter Windshield
UPDATE!!
Been lookin' for a different w/s for my 2011 Electra Glide Classic - something to make it a little less geezer glide looking. I saw that H-D has come out with a 10'' Windsplitter windshield that looked pretty good in the catalog. Called the dealer, they said they have demo's. I went to the dealer today and they swapped out my stock windshield for the demo 10'' Windsplitter. When I saw how low it was on the bike I thought, "buffeting to the max'' coming up.
A little background: I'm 6'3 with a 34'' inseam and weigh 185 lbs. riding on a stock 2011 Electra Glide seat. Okay on with the test ride. First, I like the way it looks on the motorcycle. Second, I love the lower height - it gives a more open feeling and if you slouch a little you're not looking at the top windshield line like many of us have experienced. I hit the highway with my H-D painter's hat on backwards - 50 mph, no buffeting, 60 mph, no buffeting, 70 mph, the wind is barely hitting the top of my hat, but it won't stay on so I took it off. However, still very comfortable at 70 mph and the wind blowing through my hair feels good. Okay let's hope no LEO's are up ahead, going to 80 for a short time for ultimate test - still very comfortable, back down to 70 mph. The one thing I do notice is that there seems to be more air circulating around my head, but my head and sunglasses are not getting beat up. The point being, it may be a little cooler when riding in the cold weather. On the other hand, more air in 85-90 degree weather will feel good.
Okay, stop the bike, put half helmet on thinking the wind coming over the top of the w/s will catch the little helmet visor and beat me up. Now, back up to 70-75 mph and still no buffeting and I'm just lovin' the lower height of this Windsplitter.
Now if you like your windshield bag as much as I like mine, this may be a tough decision for you. Generally I'm a "function" first kinda guy, but I like a little ''cool'' now and then. I've decided to give up the windshield bag for this windshield because it's functional and cool (in my opinion). I'll just get a small box or bag for little stuff and throw it in the tour-pak.
My opinion is that it's a cool lookin' windshield that provides the wind protection that I need. I like the 10'' windsplitter and I'm going to buy one.
Bought the 10" Windsplitter today. The 3 pouch H-D windshield bag fits. Rode about 100 miles with it and I love it.

Thanks for the info. I like the extra width on the 10 inch windspliter. I have a 12 inch halfmoon that extends more out each side like the windsplitter from Clarks Custom windshield and love it just aint real crazy about the way it looks. Think i will go to Harley dealer and demo one too.

If it works, great - then I can keep my windshield bag. Thanks for the info.

I know this is an older thread, but I have a question about the 10" Wind Splitter Windshield. From reading this review, it seems like HD placed some generic restrictions about the windshield in the product description.
For example: "Does not fit with zumo 550 GPS Navigator, Windshield Bags or Pouches."
But according to some of the replies above, the windshield bag does fit (on the 7" & 12") versions.
Maybe these restrictions just apply to the 4-1/2" Wind Splitter?
Anyways, my question is as follows:
Will the 10" Wind Splitter (Part Number 57400092) work/fit with the HD Road Tech Zumo 660 & 665 Fairing Mount Kit (Part Number 92238-09) and a Garmin Zumo 595 GPS?
