Mine has always pinged when hot regardless of the brand of 93 octane. What fixed it for me was adjusting the FI map on my PCIII to be slightly richer in the rpm/load range I got the pinging. Only pings now if she's really hot, like after heavy traffic in summer. I just take it easy on the throttle if I get in this situation. Cooling fan is next on the list, but that's another topic.

 

my 07 pinged bad stock,pcv with fuelmoto map took care of 90%of it only when stupid hot now. damm this response sounds familiar.
