Default Need help for Zumo 665 radio reception

I just activated the XM radio on my new Zumo 665 Road Tech. The reception is quite poor. Only 1 bar and it cuts in and out. XM radio is basically useless right now. Dealer installed entire unit including the NIM and antenna (puck). Before I take it back, I wanted to check with you folks to see if anyone else has had this problem and if there is something I can do?

Thanks

Do you know where the antenna puck was placed? I have the regular Zumo 665 on my Ultra-Classic with the puck sitting on top of the radio inside the fairing (it's magnetic). Satellite reception is excellent.

Need to know where the antenna is mounted. If it is on the radio and has the wire bundles covering it then the reception will be poor.

I agree with everyone else about the antenna position question. I'd pull the fairing cap off and have a look. If you never done it before It's pretty simple and a 10 minute job. You can place a towel across your front fender and leave the head light harness connected when you pull the fairing forward. Just let it rest on the fender while you have a look.

I put double stick velcro on the puck and attached it to the top of the front brake resivior, wrapped the cable down the handlebars and into the antenna connection.

Got it solved! It was the bluetooth interference. Thanks everyone for all your help! This is a great forum. I hope I can help someone someday.

I have the HogTunes 40.4 amp on top of my radio, so I mounted the XM antenna on top of the NIM bracket.

Reception is excellent!
