Default FLHTK handlebar options and retain heated handgrips??

Both a local Harley shop and custom shop have told me there are no aftermarket handlebars that will accept the stock HEATED HD grips. The stock handlebar on my 2011 FLHTK kills my shoulder do to too much reach. I was hoping to put on something like the Wild Ones 575 or even the HD pullback to get the grips a couple of eaches closer, but losing the heated grips is not an option. If someone has a suggestion that would work, it would be most appreciated.

575 and 578 should work but has this alert:

Our bars are designed to work on the vast majority of Stock HD equipment.
The HD heated grips are shallower than the OEM standard rubber grips.
You may have to trim 1/2" off left bar end so everything butts up to 1-1/4" section.

after that they should work with heated grips.
HD has some pull back bars that will work too.

Lots of bars in the market will work with heated grips, I put HD pullback bars on my 2011 Limited, gave me some relief but I would like a little more spread and pullback, with the HD bars you gain excaclty what the state about 2 inches which is not a lot.

I have a 2012 FLHTK, I went with the WO-575's. I had to trim off a small amount of the left side of the bar to make the grip/switch housing/clutch perch fit up tight to the bar. I ran all wires, the throttle by wire, heated hand grips and switch wires all internal. It will fit and works just fine. This last weekend I rode a little over 800 miles to Myrtle Beach and was in comfort. I bought a +4 inch clutch cable when I installed the bars. The stock length switch wires will work however, the connectors inside the fairing will have to be moved a little.
Hope this helps.

I was quite suprised when 2 different shops turned down the chance to make money, stating that he heated grips were not compatible. I had read in a very old thread where someone had trimmed the left handlbar and it worked out. If that's the case, I will change it myself. I am leaning heavily toward the WO 575's. THanks a lot.

I also put on the WO575's on my FLHTK with the heated grips. I like the bars but want to go a little higher, so I ordered the WO578's. My WO575's were put on in January, I will have them up for sale next week after the WO578's are on. I did have to cut off a 1/4 inch on the left side to accommodate the heated grip. If your interested let me know.

I put Wild 1 Chubby 14" Apes on my Limited and retained the Heated Grips.

Just a heads up, it's not an easy thing to do. Give yourself plenty of time and don't get in a hurry. Walk away for a while if you need to.

There are a lot of wires on the limited.
