Changing out saddlebag guards?
I recently purchased a 2012 FLHTP which has the rear saddlebag guards with twin wrap around guards. I know that Harley makes a rear saddlebag guard that does not have the twin wrap around design but they're pretty pricey at over 2 bills and seem to replace the entire unit. My question: can I simply buy the front piece to eliminate the twin wrap around bars but retain the saddlebag support and crash bar piece to protect the bag incase of a layover?
Here's what I have:

But want this:

Yes. It's when you don't want the front guard is when you would have to change out the bottom rail, etc. Or, take of the rails and plug the holes

Got mine from
Hill Country Custom Cycles for $160 on eBay (come in black & chrome)...plus these are thicker than HD's (same size as hwy bar). You should be able to ditch those side bars & match HCC's guard to your saddlebag mount.

Those have the holes for the twin rails that wrap around the saddlebag, which is what I already have and want to get rid of.
