Question How to help: Rear Narrow Chome Directional Bar

Need some help from those who have swapped out this mod. What I am attempting to do is install this without removing the rear wheel. I know it can be done but can't find the tool for the job. What do I need?

I believe it's a 9/16th or 7/16th. Use a socket to bust it loose, than you have to go in with an open or box wrench.

Quite easy really.

You don't need to remove the rear wheel. It's just the two bolts and pull the wires through. You will need to disconnect them from behind the tail light and feed them through the foam and it's a fairly simple job.

Had mine off my 08. Bolt head is 1/2". Used a 1/4" drive rachet and socket to take it part way, then a flex head racheting wrench to finish the job.

I did this twice, once on my Heritage and once on my RK.

I did it on my Heritage without a jack, but it was very tight. Get it up on a jack and it will be a bit easier to get to

I did it this way and no jack or lift was required. The only thing I would add,is to use some Blue Lock-Tite on the reinstall.

Pull the tail light off and use one hand working through the hole in the fender, one working from underneath.

I plan to finish this today. My wrench was too short so a buddy lend me a longer one to get in that tight spot under the fender. Thanks for the tips guys...

I don't remember what I used (socket or flat wrench) but I didn't remove the rear wheel.

Here is a pic of the narrow bar installed. Looks better IMO.
