Default Are there different levels of stage1 downloads from the dealer?

I was talking to my dealer about the stage 1 download. He said its 180 bucks. 150 for the download and 30 for installation. He also said there are 3 different levels of the download. 1 for just slipons, 1 for full exhaust system and 1 for a full exhaust system and stage 1 ac. I told him if the price is the same i probaly will get the full sytem and open ac download. Right now i am throwing on some slipons but i know by winter i am going to pull the headpipe and de cat it and then throw an open ac on. Just curious if anyone else has heard of different stage 1 downloads. I never did till he said it.........

Don't know about 3 different maps, never heard that before but for 180 I'd seriously kick in the extra 100 to 150 and at least get a PCV or a SE Pro Tuner off eBay before I'd waste that much on a dealer download that only changes the rev limiter and timing a little.

I agree, stay away from the stealership and go with a PCV or a Power Vision. There is so much you can do with either one don't be dependant on a dealership to set your bike up for you.

The basic download from the dealer is a one-time down load for whatever you have done.
That's why people buy a Power Commander or the SE Super tuner or similar tuner. They can be reprogramed when you do changes later on.

Most people that do the Stage 1 Download do the "Open A/C and mufflers" then they are done with the bike.

I do only plan on an exhaust and ac change, that's it. I had a tts on my old bike. It was overkill for just stage 1. Power vision would be an option since I don't " need " a dyno to tune but don't have the funds. I just don't like piggy back units that trick the ECM.

The Power commander Vision is a flash tuner, not a piggyback tuner.

if your going to make a lot of mods....stage I, stage II, stage III, stage IV, etc, an ECM replacement with auto tune will save you money in the long run.

I don't and won't be doing any other mods other than exhaust and ac. Thus Thinking of going with download.

I'm perfectly fine with a piggyback system like my PC-V. The ECM stays vanilla and that's one less source of potential problem.
To each his own.
