Default gps and sun glare

Hi all, I am using my Garmin 250 from my truck on the bike . Works great except when the sun hits it I can't see the screen. Is there some kind of cover I can use to make the screen more readable? Anyone done something to make it better?

No gps is what I would call "great" in the sun. Back in the days of gray and black LCD screens, the more sun you had on it the better. But in today's color LCD screen world, not so anymore.
As already suggested, you can try the hoods that are available to help keep more of the screen in the shade. You might also try mounting it at a different angle...one you can still see...but one that is no so conducive to direct sun.

Sun shades work but I also noticed the screen is refecting what shirt I have on.
In the summer I try to wear light colored shirt because of the heat and it washes out the screen.
But when I wear dark colors it a lot easier to see.

Just google "GPS sun shade"

Read most of the posts from people who have bought these sun shades and they all pretty much say they don't really help. What I have found to help is forcing you GPS to always display in nightime mode. The background screen is darker and does display better in sunlight.

The new Zumo 350LM has a sun light readable screen:
"zūmo 350LM has a highly visible, sunlight-readable 4.3” (10.9 cm) touchscreen display with a simple, glove-friendly interface."

And even the Zumo 350LM likes the Road Glide Ultra. Watch the video. LOL

I just ordered 2 of these direct from Glarestompers. They're in Corona Ca. I bought 2 to use one on my Garmin Nuvi and the other on my XM Radio. Don't know if/how well they work but I will report back once I have them.

BTW they are running a deal right now with free shipping and you can find a coupon code on the internet. 15% off with free shipping I got both units for under 30 bucks.
