Thumbs up First overnight trip...

Just did my first overnight trip on the SG.
What a blast!!!
Rode up to Grafton, WV and over RT.50 to Winchester, VA.
Stayed the night in Front Royal and hit the Skyline Drive the next morning.

The Skyline Drive was awesome. Lots of scenic views and met to some nice folks on Harleys and Goldwings.

My original plan had me continuing down the Blueridge Parkway to Mount Airy but mega thuderstorms put a stop to that.

So I decide to ride back up to Winchester, VA. Stayed the night there and rode up to the York Manufacturing facility.
It was a great tour even though it was cut short due to the 2013 model change. I'll definetley go back to do the Steel Toe Tour.

After York I headed down to Berkley Spring, WV and back over RT.50 and down I-79 in the thuderstorm home.

SG did great. Very comfortable with only one hiccup. My low beam went out heading down I-79. It was an aftermarket bulb and I got it replaced under warranty.

1032 miles in 3 days. Can't wait to take another trip.

Here are some pics from the ride.

Cool little place along RT.50. I haven't been here since I was 5 or 6. Brought back some great memories.

Saddleback Mountain overlook

Stopped at Groves HD to pickup a waterproof seatcover. Just in case it rained overnight.

Cool ride and pictures!

What did you think of Berkeley Springs? That's on my to-do list.

Awesome pics! Somehow I need to venture out that way...would it be "wrong" to stuff our kids in the saddlebags?

Great pics! Glad you had a fun trip. I just finished a very memorable one and can't wait til the next!

In May/June 2014 I plan to ride 'round the entire Lower 48 from coast to coast to celebrate my retirement.

Nice! Always nice to see someone enjoying their ride and using it for what it's made for - riding.

Rt 50 outside of Morgantown is a great ride and we stop at Cool Springs Park every time. I'll actually be there next weekend for Mountainfest. I'm still smiling from looking at your picture. Thanks for the reminder and glad you had a great trip!

I was actually a little dissapointed at Berkley Springs.
I thought it was going to be this quaint little town to check out, but there are allot of big rigs going through downtown.
It was so loud I could barley talk to my girl on the phone while standing on the street.
