Default Road King Windshield Part#?

Not sure if they sell the hardware for the windshields separately, but I just got a LRS windshield with the dark tint and love it. I'd like to find the parts to reuse my stock windshield so that I can change between them quickly (like if I'm deciding to ride at night) without having to buy an entire unit. Anyone know if HD (or any aftermarket groups) sell a windshield kit without the windshield itself that will fit a '12 RK?

Not sure about the part# but I would try and find a used one on CL in your area. It will probably less expensive than the new mounting hardware.

After reading your post I was able to find two on CL in my area one for less than 100, thats got to be cheaper than ordering new from HD.

Also +1 on the LRS. Just put 1 on mine last week. Went with the medium tint. Pretty good bang for the buck. Got it with a 40% coupon. Had I waited another day or 2 could have got the 50%. Oh well.

Also nice to see another Chiver on here.

Same thing happened to me, got 40% off and the next day it was 50%. Still love the shield though

I've been thinking about the same thing, my stock windshield is a tall one, might be great for cooler fall weather. Love my LRS Tinted, but don't want to have to change hardware every season.
