Default Bike won't start in gear, clutch pulled in

I just changed to the Chubby WO575 bars last night and LOVE THEM!!!

That being said, everything went pretty smoothly until I went to start it in first, clutch pulled in. Nothing. It starts just fine in neutral, but if it's in 1st or any other gear, it doesn't do anything.

Anyone have an idea where to start looking??

Did you change the levers or just the bars? There is a safety swich in the clutch that allows you to start in gear. If that wire is damaged then it is a no go. You can check it with a continuity tester. Check for kinks or possible grounds.

Listen for the click as you pull in the clutch that should tell you if your hitting the sensor.

Side stand? Or do you not have a safety interlock on US models?

I've only ridden them since '09 but ours have had them since then.

Check for a pinched wire under the switch housing were the wires go into the bars.
