Synthetic Oil Not Recommended by Factory in Primary
Went to the dealership for Syn 3 oil for my oil change and he told me the factory is not recommending the use of synthetic oil in the primary. They say it is causing problems with the clutch assembly. They recommend the HD Formula +3 oil now. Has anyone else heard about this problem?

First point - HD dealers are just like the internet, there is a lot of different info depending on where you go and contrary to popular belief all internet and dealer info is not required to be true.
Second point - you can run full syn, in your primary, but honestly no benefit. Me personally, I run regular 20w50 dino, it's cheaper and doesn't need to be any better, it's not under severe use or anything. I do like synthetic in the trans for smoother action and the engine for its heat qualities.
