They didn't show it because they never removed the oil pump from the cam plate. If you don't remove, it "shouldn't" get out of alignment.
I know this is old, but this statement is 100% false. My 2013 touring manual absolutely states that the oil pump should be unbolted from the cam plate prior to removing cam plate. THEN: during reassembly the oil pump alignment procedure must be performed prior to torqueing down the oil pump bolts. The crank shaft must be roated while torqueing the bolts in the proper sequence. This allows the oil pump gearators to find their nautral center point in the oil pump housing in relation to crank shaft rotation and cam plate tolerances. If the procedure isn't done it can cause friction spots and rubbing inside the oil pump and could end in disaster.
The oil pump has tight tolerances and crank shaft run out can influence these tolerances in the oil pump if it is not aligned be for tightening. This is why you should always purchase a service manual and follow all directions.
