Default 2010 FLHRC Compensator problems

Had a bad clatter noise coming from my primary cover so with 2 weeks of warranty left I rode to the nearest Harley dealer 250 miles away to find out what the hell went wrong. Come to find out the compensators in this model and year have been giving mechanics fits all over. He couldn't believe they havent been recalled. The compensator bowl was distorted and the springs were loose. Replaced it with a screaming eagle heavy duty and runs like a top again. SO if you hear any weird sounds coming from the primary this could very well be your problem.

Default PS

While I was at the shop at asked the mechanic while he was working on my bike if he'd mind putting in a couple of spark plugs as I was just over a 20,000 miles. NO PROBLEM. Plugs were 8.35 on the dealers internet site. Got charged 9.95 and 30 BUCKS LABOR. Evidently they charge 20 minutes labor to replace 2 spark plugs. I told the owner a spider monkey on crack with a pipe wrench could do it in less than 2 minutes. He didn't like my comment and I didn't like his prices. That doesn't make us even. Looking at the old plugs he threw in my saddlebag this morning and they barely showed signs of wear. My mistake. Should have done it myself but I figured really, how much time could it possibly take. I figured after they'd consider I made a 500 mile trip because their company decided to go with cheap crappy parts they might give me a break. NOT

It's always a good idea to ask how much something will cost beforehand!

WOW! I don't know of anyone else that has had compensator problems. You must have a lemon.

Just type in screamin eagle compensator and do a search. I see they go from $230 to $250 without shipping.
