Default Hard bags & King Tour-Pak for '09 FLHRC

I love my leather-wrapped bags on my '09 Road King Classic, but I'm thinking of getting hard bags and a King Tour-Pak for use on those longer tours (this year, Vancouver, BC to San Fran. via the Oregon Coast over the course of about three weeks). This is mostly for the locking feature. Someone told me that in order to install hard bags on my ride, I'd have to change the seat because the Classic seat design impedes the installation of hard bags. I'm sure there are folk that have installed hard bags on the same ride. True?

(I know that I can get locks for my bags, but I've heard mixed reviews about them and how reliable/finicky they are.)

Any experience sharing would be appreciated. Thx.

Got them on my 11. All you. Have to do is readjust the mounting holes.
I have a different seat, but the Corbin is bigger than the stock seat. You shouldn't have any problems.

FDHOG: what exactly does "readjust the mounting holes" entail? Redrilling?

And it looks like the stock seat. No issues accessing the bags?

None at all. Whoever told you otherwise didn't know what they were talking about...

Thanks much for the feedback. Glad to hear this. Now, I just gotta find someone ditching their bags and tour-pak!
