I am a big man and would like to find a seat to fit me. The stock is okay but would like to ride longer than 100 miles before soreness set in. I have a 2010 Ultra Limited and I am a stout 6'5" and 385 lbs.

Most seats I have found are for average guys. Not much info for us larger guys.

Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks

You probably should think about a custom seat. Take a look at Russell Day Long seats. I've heard nothing but positive stuff about those guys who build seats for challenging situations.

Stop by your dealer. They may be able to let your borrow a demo seat or a seat off a used bike (they'll probably make you put down something as collateral). Take the seat for a spin for a couple of hours...not just around the block.

There are other threads where big guys don't like the Hammock seat as the slings seem to get over-taxed. Have you test ridden a Sundowner seat?

That doesn't look too bad. Looks real close to the stock seats on the 97-06 Electra Glides. What is the "sling" that you guys keep talking about and how does that work? Any pics of the sling? I just bought an 09 Road King Classic that has a stock seat and I'm sure the ol lady will not like it when we go for weekend trips. I may need to get me a Hammock...

The "sling" is underneath the foam and does not touch the bottom of the seat pan. The sling and foam are suspended between plastic dowels and absorb the shock of bumps.

I am new on here, today. Can someone tell me if they like the sling seat over the zepplin, and why? I am looking at both. The zepplin is just too much. I am 6' 1" and 265. My back is starting to kill on just 250 mile rides. The sling looks really pleasing, as I will test it out later today, on a demo.
I will also test the Zepplin, but am prone to save some bucks....
Thanks.

You may want to consider taking Advil (anti inflamatory) for doing long rides. It helps alot!

In the old days, riding Harleys without all the comfort features we enjoy today ( me inclined ). We consumed much stronger stuff....just saying, lol.

And I wonder why I have some of my health issues. Life is funny
