I have the Kuryakyn kit and have had it for about 7 years. Works great, 66% more light in the back and I've got it set to flash 3 times before a steady burn when I hit the brakes. Stock bulbs.
I've got it and friends say it makes a BIG difference. Since I also have the AirWing light and the HD LED Tour Pak kit, the back of mine looks like a big Xmas tree...amazed at how bright it is, even in daylight! Well worth the $60...
I not only have that kit, I have the turn signal/ brake light kit on my tour pack. I also added hyperlights which mount on either side of the license plate. I got the brake light only so when I apply the breaks the hyperlights flash. I want all the lights in the rear I can. Had a buddy tell me it looked like he was riding behind an ambulance, which is fine by me.
Either test your new conversion kit with a voltmeter or exchange it regardless. Fuses are there to protect your circuit and it sounds like something is wrong.
It would certainly be a help, but I went with the HD Rear LED Turn Signals-68128-10 (and LED tail light). Get the LEDs and the 3 lights instead of 1 tail light/brake light combo. Any of the previously mentioned LEDs would be much brighter then the 3 incandecent bulbs imho
I have the Saddlebag mounted LED Run-Brake-Turn signal on my 2014 FLHX, and the Tri
Bar Run-Brake light at the bottom of the fender. The more lights in the rear the better.
I have a 2007 road king and I just installed the HD kit. I took it for a ride today and blew a fuse, anybody have this problem?
sounds like a pinched wire or a bad module. for certain bikes the instructions say to wire it differently so it doesn't overload a fuse, but I don't think it's a touring bike. check that too...
I've got a device in my tour pak that flashes those brake lights and a Bright *** Light set to flash first. Like others, I keep an eye on my mirror and pump my brakes to make them flash until I know that cage is going to stop. Any thing you can do to be more visible is a good thing.
