Thanks for the input guys. Sounds like its nothing to be worried about. I just didn't like seeing it on a bike thats a few weeks old.

I attached a few pics. Don't know why they are rotated but you can make them out.

I think those pics are just what most are talking about. Yes, a bit alarming at first but someone just got a bit heavy on the lube upon assembly.

A couple washings, a couple hundred miles, and the stains should be gone.

Enjoy the new ride!

I just had my 1000 mile dealer maintenance done on my 13' limited and they pointed out the weep. We then walked around and found 2 more bikes with it. I checked 3 of my buddies that have 103's and 2 of them have it.

Personally I would rather put up with a little weep than have my engine cracked open.

Yup, would say if brand new motors just an assembly lube issue that should self correct. When you get a bonafied barrel leak you will KNOW it; trust me. :-)

What do tou think Tac? Leak or not? What I cannot figure is people want them to go potato potato and I have never see someone wanting the real old school. My friend comes over on his 1938 and the wife runs out with newpaper to greet him.

Nawww, Ripsaw, looks just like some "assembly lube" issues is all. At least that's probably what the Stealer would say. :-)

Maybe we should not give them any ideas or they may stack a pile of newspapers at the front desk. Not sure about you but before I let them tear into my new bike for a cylinder base leak it would need to look like my attachments. Least I know then they could not make it worst.

So true, Ripsaw. Since I never buy brand new anyways no way a Stealer ever lays a glove on my bikes. Learned long ago that a competent and trustworthy Indy is worth his weight in free beer.

I have heard of this on a new HD. probobly just need new gaskets, if they were not torqued evenly to specs this could cause leaks. Dont ride it anymore until you get it fixed. Shouldnt be any long term affects once repaired.

I can not imagine any responsible Harley shop pulling the jugs off based on that small amount of oil. They will no doubt tell you it is a new bike and those things sometimes happen as the bike goes through it's first few heat cycles. They will probably tell you to watch it and when it hits a couple thousand miles to wash it. In the meantime I would ride it all I could so it seals up good. This time of year it would be hard to get it really hot though. I don't see a problem...yet.
